From an early age, Dr. Kanwaljit S. Mann knew that caring for animals was his life’s passion. Shortly after, he decided to immigrate to this great country and live the American Dream. A few years later on July 1, 1987, he opened his own veterinary practice, Aborn Pet Hospital.
Like many in the veterinary profession, Dr. Mann has many pets. He has a rescued mixed-breed dog named “Lucy,” a teacup chihuahua named “Jhonny,” and two office cats named “Hasena” and “Fluffy.” In his free time, Dr. K.S. Mann likes to golf and host barbecues for the staff.

Dr. Nicole Emmitt
Dr. Nicole Emmitt began her veterinary journey as a veterinary assistant, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of practices. Over the years, she worked with a wide range of animals—including small and large animals, as well as exotics—which helped shape her passion for comprehensive animal care.
Before entering veterinary school, Dr. Emmitt earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology and Andrology, driven by her early interest in reproduction and sex differences. She later pursued both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Comparative and Molecular Biosciences. Her doctoral research focused on traumatic brain injury and its long-term effects on behavior and neurology, helping lay the groundwork for treatments that support both human and animal patients.
Dr. Emmitt has a special interest in neurology and behavior and enjoys working through complex cases that connect both fields. Her clinical experience includes work with pets, farm animals, research animals, and wildlife—including bears and primates.
She currently lives with her husband, their 13-year-old cat Slytherin (a cuddly companion originally from the Caribbean), and Poe, an 8-year-old Blue Heeler with a big heart and a bit of anxiety. Together, they are preparing for an exciting new chapter, as they expect their first child in March 2025.
Outside of work, Dr. Emmitt enjoys knitting, crocheting, painting, and getting lost in sci-fi novels.
